Ever wondered how the rest of the world does kpop club nights apart from us in London. Karma Ent are launching a series of reports on the different events themed around kpop from around the world. The first of our series of reports focusses on Singapore as a starting base.
We have seen quite recently, April 2011, Singapore’s first large scale kpop night kicked off. Club promoters Jig Asia are behind the promotion of “K-RAZE”. The theme of the night was based around recently discovered kpop mashup artist DJ MASA.
The 23 yr old prodigy in music production/DJ took all K-pop fans by surprise in 2005 when he released his first mash up of the well known ‘Girls on Top’ track by renowned K-pop artiste Boa in an international forum. It was well received by the K-pop community which spurred DJ MASA in the production of close to a 100 mash up still date.
Although he’s a Brazilian, DJ MASA is a huge fan of Korean, Chinese & Japanese Pop music. Being the pioneer to spearhead mash up mixes for Korean music, he boldly did a 60 videos mix into a single track.
