Bibimbap Soho Fundraising Event
Bibimbap Soho wants to raise as much money as we can in aid of the Japanese Tsunami by supporting the Red Cross.
BACKGROUND
On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake, and triggering evacuations and warnings across the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation.
THE EVENT
We’ve got a brand new Polaroid camera up for grabs, the same camera that we use in the restaurant. We’re going to set up our own special auction to win the camera but no ordinary auction, it’s going to be a reverse auction. You will have to submit the lowest unique bid to win the auction.. We will have flyers in store so that you can write your bid on and we will also set up donation boxes in the restaurant. You won’t have to eat in the restaurant to play the game, you can just come in to bid, but we would ask you to donate if you bid, we recommend at least a £1 donation for a good cause. We’re going to end collection on the 30th April. All proceeds from the event will go to the Red Cross.
HOW THE BID WORKS
To win a camera you will have to submit a low bid that no one else has submitted. E.g. If we get three bids at 1p, one bid at 2p, three bids on 3p and one bid on 4p. The person who’s bid on 2p will be the winner and because it’s an auction, you will be required to buy the camera for the bid amount, 2p in the example. At the end of the competition date we will select the winner by looking at all the bids to find the lowest bid.
